Welcome Nigel.
Just goes to show it's never too late to start something adventurous.

Hi Nigel.

Welcome. Where is your nearest buggy field? If you post up where is near to you maybe someone else will come and meet up.

Get in the bugy asap then you'll see that kiting has a whole lot more to offer!

Some may consider kitesurfing an extreme sport. Either way it is dangerous and should never be attempted by someone who has no understanding of how dangerous it can be. Seek advice from your local kiteshop. Seek appropriate training before changing your lifestyle forever!

Hi Nigel,

Welcome to the forums.

I fly over at Queens Parade near Aldershot, where there is quite a bit of room.

See following link for details http://www.seka.org.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=1700.

Unfortunately, the MOD has put a temporary ban on us at the moment, but we hope to have it sorted out by the end of the month.

Other than that, we have a flying at West Wittering on 27th Feb. Should be plenty of space down on the beach.

Hi Nigel

I might see you at the next seka event, West Wittering. That'll give you a chance to try out the buggy!

Hey Nigel, I'm hoping that I will be flying for quite a few years after 50 which for me is just a couple of month's away .

Those kites can certainly pull you about, and I never really though that I would need more than a 5 metre kite a few years back, but I'm happy flying 14 now in the right conditions

Personally, I mostly buggy, but have tried landboarding an plan to progress a little with kitesurfing this year .

So my advice is to just go for it!

Steve.
