Hi All.
Just to let you all know, I have decided to try once again to get more authors and interest in developing a global kite wiki.
I know that many people have referred to the site and made use of what is now about 100 pages of kite related information and photos. The intention was always to create a totally independent site that would be open to all kiters, potentially worldwide.
To this end, I am opening up the Kite Wiki to be available to members of any UK forum or club, and as it would be unfair to continue using SEKA's web hosting for that, I have now re-hosted the site as:
kitewiki.org.uk
This has some disadvantages (I have to pay for it and maintain it) and some advantages too (I can re-configure the site more quickly, and reset passwords etc without having to bother anyone else to do it for me).
I would like to take this opportunity to thank SEKA

for allowing me to use their hosting to tinker with his for the last two years, though I confess that most of the work was actually done within the first few months

. I'm hoping to get back and continue where I left off, with the help of a few enthusiastic others

.
By opening this up to a wider audience, I hope to get enough contributors together to get things moving at which point I will no longer be the main contributor and the site will develop as I always wanted it to

.
As ever, if you feel that you would like to contribute by writing up small articles (upwards of 10 lines of text) to help other kiters, please come forward.
Remember that even as a beginner, the initial learning experience will be fresh in your mind and you are in a very good position to help others in a similar position who are stumbling over something that those who are more experienced would think was obvious.
So roll up roll up, who wants an account on the new site
Best wishes,
Steve.
